Over 80% of men experience significant hair loss, regardless of age or lifestyle. Although there are many triggers for this to occur in men such as genetics, stress or illness, it is more common than you may think.
Here at Chris David SMP we believe that Scalp Micropigmentation treatment is the future of hair loss treatment and will make a difference in the lives of many men suffering from hair loss. We provide you with the confidence to build a stronger you.
What is Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)?
Scalp micro pigmentation is a non-surgical solution to hair loss that replicates the appearance of thicker, fuller hair. Using micro-fine needles, pigment (ink) is deployed into the scalp, much like a tattoo, to create thousands of tiny impressions, giving the illusion of hair.
Unlike hair transplants, there is no need for any incisions, and no chemicals are used. The chance of infection is low because the process is non-invasive. Here are five reasons we think Scalp Micropigmentation is the future of hair loss treatment;
It's Cost Effective
Unlike with a Hair Transplant, you won’t need to travel abroad to find a more cost-effective treatment. SMP is an affordable solution that offers exceptional results that last forever. You can’t put a price on confidence, and if your hair loss is affecting your mental health yet you’re finding most hair loss treatments require you to break the bank; Scalp Micropigmentation is the answer.
Time Efficient
The treatment process only takes place over 3-4 sessions, each one lasting a maximum of three hours at a time, depending on the size and density of the area being treated. If you’ve ever had a large tattoo done before, you may be familiar with the process; SMP is similar to getting a tattoo. You may need a few sessions to get to your desired look but it’s an easy and convenient process. Once you’ve had your first session, the results will be immediate and they’ll only get better as your sessions go on.

Long lasting
Unlike a hair transplant, SMP treatment lasts forever!
There are some factors that may contribute to the overall look such as Ultraviolet (UV) light from Sitting outside for extended periods of time without sunscreen or a protective covering. This could not only lead to sunburn, but it could also fade micropigmentation at a faster rate. That’s why it’s important to prevent fading with a high-SPF sunscreen, especially if you’ll be exposed to the sun’s UV rays for longer than usual, and a touch-up session is recommended every 4-6 years but isn’t required.

Pain free
Although SMP is similar to a tattoo, due to the process of using a needle gun to place the pigment into the skin, the technique and products used are completely different.
Treatments of SMP use specialist pigment that has only been created for use on the scalp and is not tattoo ink, which also means the ink won’t change colour over time. The needles used for this process also don’t go into the scalp as deep as a tattoo needle would, therefore making the experience a lot less painful. The majority of people who have had SMP have felt no discomfort whatsoever – some have likened the treatment to a head massage and have been known to fall asleep during the process!
Confident boosting
Losing your hair can trigger a range of emotions, from shame and anger to fear and even depression; most men expect to lose hair but if your hair loss occurs at a young age, it can have a detrimental effect on your confidence.
Losing hair can make you feel old and unattractive, so it’s not surprising that gaining hair can make you feel youthful and attractive. Scalp Micropigmentation helps to boost your confidence and regain positive mental wellbeing. Once you feel happy and confident in your own skin again, you will in turn feel more confident around others.
